While Choosing The HP Laserjet 2200 Laser Toners

by Bryan Sonners

When considering the HP LaserJet 2200 printer and LaserJet 2200 printer toner cartridges, keep in mind that one will be getting a workhorse laser printer meant to be used mainly as a computer-to-printer unit for the most part. It features excellent print speed and good print quality at a price (new, around $130) that will be hard to beat for those small office or home office entrepreneurs on a budget.

At 18 pages per minute of monochrome output, there are few other laser printers at this price point that can keep up with the LaserJet 2200. In fact, most other printers selling for what this unit currently goes for would be hard pressed to deliver print speed within three or four pages per minute of this printer, which might be a strong selling point for most any prospective customer.

Going hand-in-hand with the fine print speed of this HP printer, is its 1,200 dots per inch print quality. This means that the resolution of a product printed out by this particular HP compatible toner will be excellent across almost all print criteria. Output should emerge looking sharp, clear and with no evidence of blurring or smudging. It also can print graphics-rich jobs as well.

In terms of physical size, the HP 2200 -- at 10 inches high by 16 inches wide -- will sit on any desktop unobtrusively and at a low weight. It matches up well against most of its competition for a fact. Given that it delivers both high print speed and excellent print quality, it's only surprising that it's not a big, bulky printer.

There's a standard 8 MB of supplied memory, and it can be increased to about 72 MB if that's what's called for by the user or the workgroup to which it'll be joined. It usually makes use of the computer's own processing power to do all of its work, and is controlled via use of a 133 MHz processor. It might not be the speediest, but it's able to keep everything moving along nicely and delivered with little real fuss.

When it comes to the versatility of this HP unit, it's nice to know that it includes the ability to use a USB or a parallel port. Speaking of USB, keep in mind that a cable will need to be purchased as the LaserJet 2200 doesn't supply one of its own. Spending the extra money to obtain a nice quality USB cable to run from the computer to the printer given this model's price is a small price to pay, it should be noted.

Paper capacity for this machine is a very fine 350 sheets, 250 of which can be held in a single auto load input tray. A single manual load input slot can also accommodate another 100 sheets of paper. As far as all the different kinds of paper stock and media stock the printer can handle, most experts say it is equally as versatile at that as it is at being able to connect to a computer.

The HP LaserJet 2200 printer comes to the game with nice durability, as far as these types of printers go. Monthly duty cycle is rated at 40,000 pages per month of print product. This means that it can print out about 40,000 sheets of product before needing any sort of required maintenance. It has the ability to run off of Mac OS 7.7.7 and most Windows OSs. For $120 retail and decent print speeds, it hard to find much to nitpick about when it comes to this laser printer.

Every sheet produced by the HP 2200 cartridge will show your commitment to professionalism. Value is in the results of using HP LaserJet compatible toner and in finding the best way to order bulk toner.
