by Ben Pate

The Dell M5200 printer using Dell M5200 toner cartridges allows cost-effective solutions possible with this loaded monochrome lase printer. The high volume capacity printing, capable of printing up to 35 pages per minute, lets users print their needed worksheets and files in a fraction of the time. And with its integrated port for Ethernet connection, linking and using it in your home or business network is a breeze.

The printer has a weight of around 45 pounds. Its external measurements in its 16" height is 17.2" by 20.2". It is not, however, squarish, like most of the other laser printers, as it has a curved front and a black-gray color. It has a single line LCD display in front, and the USB and Ethernet ports found at the back. Cables do not come with it, however.

You can easily change the Dell replacement toners in front with its front panel. It also opens up to show a multipurpose tray for thicker papers, envelopes and for letterheads. It can take up to 500 sheets of paper, and keeps them straight with a certain paper path at the back.

The Dell M5200 Printer has a base model, 5200n, and it has a total memory of 64MB. Users, however, may select to upgrade this memory upon purchasing. Its RAM can be upgraded up to 320MB, a rather useful option for small businesses which need high volume printing. Other optional upgrades include extra paper trays, duplexing unit, an envelope feeder, and sheet drawers. When fully loaded with all possible upgrades, it has a quite large capacity of up to 2,600 sheets of paper.

The printer comes with a CD, and it also guides you to install the printer into your network. It supports Windows operating systems, and even Novell and Linux, so you won't have any problems of using different operating systems across your network.

Upon installing the Dell M5200 printer software, it also makes an icon in your desktop which gives you links to order cartridges. You may choose to order via the internet or through the phone. It also gives links to various paper media and toner cartridges to keep your printer in top condition.

It offers a maximum resolution of up to 1200 x 1200 DPI, making those details intricately printed in your documents. It can take up to A4-sized or Legal-sized sheets of paper. With its affordable price, you can have a fast solution to your high volume printing, without compromising the quality.

It averages around ten to eleven pages per minute when users print with graphics. It has quite nice shadings of black and white when printing photos, and quite decent graphics quality, as well.

The Dell M5200 printer is definitely a cost-effective way for printing solutions in your small business, and maybe even at home. Toner ink cartridges might be a bit on the pricey side, but it gives you around 18000 to 32000 pages in one high-yield Dell toner. This makes sure that you never run out of Dell Laser M5200 cartridges the next time you need to print those important documents, letting you be on the top of the game - without spending too much.
