The HP LaserJet 8150dn Printer And Its Capabilities In The Home Office

by Ben Pate

Giving the HP LaserJet 8150dn printer kudos will be very easy to do because this particular Hewlett-Packard monochrome laser jet printer has been designed to work in a network to a high degree of efficiency and functionality. It is mid-priced and relatively speedy when it comes to putting out printed product, both of which combine to make it an extremely attractive candidate for a small or medium-sized business these days. The LaserJet 8150dn compatible toners provides the professionalism you're seeking.

Print speeds for this particular Hewlett-Packard are a very nice 32 pages of product produced every minute. For most businesses that require a printer of durable and reliable capability, it'll be fairly hard to find another printer better than the 8150dn. That's because they can handle a large number of print tasks easily, which is probably made easier by its included microprocessor.

When it comes to all of the different media types that the printer can produce product on, it's probably best to say that the 8150dn is extremely versatile. All the standard media types, including envelopes, labels, transparencies, letter and legal sizes, as well as a wide variety of non-standard paper sizes can be handled by this printer. That's sure to make it attractive to most any network, for sure.

When it comes to connectivity, Hewlett-Packard has made sure that the 8150dn can be joined to most any network or even just the desktop quite easily. It comes with a nice Ethernet 10/100 port, as well as traditional parallel porting capabilities. This gives the 8150dn decent capability and versatility, meaning the office IT specialist won't have much trouble hooking it up to the network.

Another area where the 8150dn performs well is in its print resolution capability, which is 1,200 dots per inch of high-quality printing using HP ink and toner. Considering that the printer is made to be more of a workhorse, it wouldn't have come as a surprise if print resolution was only 600 dpi, but Hewlett-Packard has given it a higher quality. This is also surprising when one figures that the printer is mid-priced at best.

Task-to-production times come in at a low 17 seconds, meaning that from the moment the printer is given a job of printing out a document or file it will be only 17 seconds until it emerges. That's made possible by a nice 250 MHz microprocessor, which marries up well with the standard memory included in the printer. It will be able handle a number of jobs from all across the network as well.

As far as memory goes, the Hewlett-Packard comes with 32 MB of it, though that can be increased up to 160 MB of RAM quite easily. Assess the needs of the network or workgroup and how often it requires print jobs to be completed, as well as the size of those jobs, before making a decision about increasing RAM, because the chances are good that it probably won't be necessary.

In all, the HP LaserJet 8150dn printer presents quite a few features and capabilities for the money, especially because that money will be relatively small. At present, this monochrome printer can be found for about $600 new and at retail outlets. Used and refurbished models have been found for less than $200, and they are usually snapped up fairly quickly because they are so versatile and capable.

These capabilities are realized to the fullest with LaserJet 8150dn printer toner. Page after page of exceptional prints are to be found with HP printer toner cartridges and it's not a surprise to the savvy owner that online remanufactured toner expands your cost savings.
